[personal profile] dejla
Name: Deborah – I go by dejla on both lj and DW.
Age: Since I hit 35, I’ve said I’m old enough to know better and young enough not to care.
Location: Brooklyn

Describe yourself in five sentences or less:

Top 5 Fandoms:
It changes. At present:
Star Trek
Star Wars
The Goblin Emperor

I mostly post about:
Well, brief comments on Life, The Universe, and everything in between. Quotes. Trying to restart my Reading Wednesdays posts. Fanfiction, on occasion, though nothing recently. I may be reading something but it doesn’t always result in fanfiction, and I am bad about WIPs. There are at least three I need to finish but don’t know when I’ll get the time.

My last three posts were about:
Two quotes and a post about being locked out of social media at work.

How often do you post? How about commenting?
I work long days, since I live in Brooklyn and work in the city. So I haven’t been posting much. Probably not frequently, not usually more than 5 or 6 postings a month. I try to comment on other's post as quickly as I can, but it might be a week or two before I get onto Dreamwidth.

[personal profile] zimena
Name: Zimena should be enough. Not my real name, but one I've been using online for so long that I would probably answer to it in the physical world as well.

Age: 38, for four more days.

Location: Norway.

Other Sites I'm On: Moved from LJ at the beginning of the year, after being there since 2006. Might still comment over there, but I don't post much there anymore.

Describe yourself in five sentences or less:
  • Quiet, thoughtful and introverted as a person, but can be very talkative if we connect and have something in common.
  • Watches an obscene amount of sports. Especially in the winter, so I die a little inside when the winter sports season is over... but I still watch a lot of sports in the summer as well.
  • If I'm very into something, I will talk about it at great length and I may fangirl madly. I'm not necessarily looking for others to agree with me, just to understand my passion. Yes, there IS a current fangirl target, and you will hear about him a lot on my journal. (I'm deliberately not saying who it is, because I'm trying to make you curious so that you will come by my journal and say hi. You figured out as much, right?)
  • I like to read/write (slash) fanfiction - almost always angsty, sometimes violent and/or unpleasant, but usually less graphic than the scenes are in my mind. I may also talk quite a bit about writing, because it's a slow process for me.
  • Also loves languages (Czech and Spanish being the most important ones), music (mostly things that either ARE 20-30 years old, or have been around for that amount of time), gaming (Zelda series), and randomly browsing around the Internet.

    Top 5 fandoms:
  • Cross-country skiing. Current main inspiration for any and all fanstuff I think of and make.
  • Legend of Zelda.
  • Still trying to finish the last few episodes of Yuri on Ice!!!
  • Used to be into the fandom side of football as well. Not so much anymore.
  • Likes Harry Potter books. Haven't seen all movies, though. A (proud!) Hufflepuff in most of the "good" sorting quizzes, including the one from Pottermore.

I mostly post about: My daily life, and random thoughts and emotions related to that. Also, there's currently a lot of fangirling related to cross-country skiing. Oh, and sometimes I post about fanfic writing instead of.... you know... actually working on said fic writing. I might also sometimes post about various forms of entertainment if I have something to say about them - music, books, games... and sports, yes.

My last three posts were about: One personal update with various notes from the day yesterday, one blatant fangirl post and one post that's partly a mini personal update and mostly about wanting to start writing a new fic.

How about commenting?: I practically live on DW, and check my reading page several times daily. Even if I might not always know how to respond immediately, I try to comment if I feel like I have something to add. I also care about my friends here, and I think journals are a great way to get to know someone and make friends. Making friends is the main reason I'm here - I don't want to have just a reading list, but friends that I care about and relate to and might think of randomly because something reminds me of you.

Describe yourself in five sentences words or less: Friendly, caring, anxious, stressed, depressed

Top 5 Fandoms: Tokio Hotel, Harry Potter, Les Miserables, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars

I mostly post about: Venting, music and Bill Kaulitz

My last three posts were about: A you tube vid of the Foo Fighters covering Tom Sawyer by Rush with an audience member singing, and two posts about image posting on Dw.

How often do you post? How about commenting? I post when I feel like it, but if we are mutuals, I will probably comment on most of your posts:) And I always try to comment to most posts in communities.

    [personal profile] teyla
    Name: teyla
    Age: 30
    Location: Germany

Describe yourself in five sentences or less:
    - I have lived and worked in several countries, but currently live less than 30km from where I was born.
    - I got into fandom at age 11 and made my older sister translate Sulu/Chekov fanfiction for me.
    - I really like British TV, and my cat's name is Rassilon.
    - I enjoy heartachey fic, and pairings where you don't know whether they're yelling because they're mad, or because it's their version of foreplay. (Maybe both?)
    - It's been six years and I still don't understand Tumblr.

    Top 5 Fandoms:
Hard to pin down. I tried.

The Thick of It - my current obsession
Doctor Who - recurring obsession, sort of a love-hate thing
Star Trek TOS - my first love, will always hold a special place in my heart
Due South - because it's Due South
House MD - an obsession from way back when that I've been having nostalgic feelings about

    I mostly post about:
Fandom, real life, TV I've watched, writing woes, vidding woes, art woes, links to cool stuff I found on the internet

My last three posts were about:
    1) The fic I'm currently writing
    2) A job I might be getting
    3) A link collection about Catholicism and Scotland in the 1980s (research for my current fic)

How often do you post? How about commenting?
I post maybe five or six times a month. I comment when I've got something to say. That said, I try to have something to say more often than not--my recent return to Dreamwidth was mainly fueled by wanting to talk to people, so I both try to comment regularly, and to keep the conversations in my own posts alive.
