How often do you post? How about commenting?
I post maybe five or six times a month. I comment when I've got something to say. That said, I try to have something to say more often than not--my recent return to Dreamwidth was mainly fueled by wanting to talk to people, so I both try to comment regularly, and to keep the conversations in my own posts alive.

Friending back! I will happily drag you into The Thick of It; it's such a fun show, but since the last season aired, the fandom's sort of fallen asleep. And I'd love to revisit House after all these years ... I quit that show round about season 3; that's over 10 years ago now!

Thanks! Apologies for the lack of recent content - I have been off LJ/DW for a while now, and am just now coming back to it. Plus, I am working on my Phd thesis and have a writing intensive job, so I have to see about getting a regular posting schedule up and running.

Please, do drag me - I am planning on getting my hands on the canon after Easter, and then I am more than happy to discuss stuff with you - fair warning, I am an English lit major (specialising in British lit and cultural studies), so I can get very geeky very fast. :D

As for House : I stuck with it till the end (although seasons six and seven were painfully sloppy in places) and I am actually due for a rewatch fairly soonish :)

I am absolutely down with that. Cultural studies are my jam (or more like my hobby; I haven't studied them officially but I love talking about them), and I'm fond of British culture and lit as I used to live there. Geeky is good!

Oh man, House. I think I quit watching somewhere around season 5, but I lost my fannish investment in season 4 when they introduced the weird duckling competition. I kept getting invested in all the new characters, and they kept dumping them! I also have to admit that I was a bitter House/Wilson fangirl and extremely mad about the Tritter arc. I recently watched the episodes starring Lin-Manuel Miranda in season 6 (cute enough, though yeah, a bit sloppy), and I did watch the finale when it aired. That was cute, though of course a little sad.

I've been thinking about rewatching. The show did have a few very entertaining moments and characters!

Good to know though you may come to regret those words. Oh? How long have you lived there and where? I lived in Swansea, Wales for a semester during my studies (and even visited Torchwood ;))

I did my degree in Southampton, 2008 till 2011, and then spent some time in London. I have also been to Torchwood! Or, you know, Cardiff and the Roald Dahl Plass. It's been a while, though. Is the Ianto memorial still up??

Cool! To my eternal shame, I have to admit that I have been to London yet. I also have not been to Cardiff recently, so I don't know whether the Ianto memorial still exists; the BBC reported that they'd closed the Dr Who exhibition recently (which made me sad, even though it was mostly for kids...)

(And I just realised I need a Dr Who icon)

The Doctor Who exhibit was great! I heard that they closed it, too, that's very regrettable. I'd've loved to go back.

According to Wales Online, in 2015 the memorial was apparently still there. If it's survived this long, I assume it's probably not been taken down. Ianto fandom was crazy, but I do like the fact that this memorial exists.

Okay, but don't say I did not warn you! :)

As for House: well, I guess it helped that I always watch and read media with a fannish attitude at the back of my mind. I don't expect much from canon anymore, and so I can't be disappointed by the not-so-good stuff..? Funnily enough, House was one of the fandoms that drove that attitude home and made me one of the people who slowly back away when TPTB look as if they want to pick up something fandom either created or made a thing: I don't know whether you know this, but season seven actually made House and Cuddy an item and then had them come down crashing and burning (largely because they wanted to write Lisa Edelstein out of the show). Now, while I wasn't a shipper in that fandom, I have this thing for bickering couples (what can I say, Jane Austen got to me young...), and I was happy with the pairing happening. Ow, did that hurt.

Hey what do you say: care to share if you ever do the rewatch?

I do always make the mistake of wanting canon to be better ... though I've managed at this point to just quit watching and stick to fandom when I stop enjoying something. Most of the time, fandom is where it's at, anyway.

I did know that House/Cuddy became a thing. I always thought Cuddy was great, and I liked her, and her dynamic with House, in the early seasons ... I thought it was a bit regrettable, though, that in the later seasons she was more and more pushed into the corner of the female character who has a crush on the main guy, and gets ruined over it, while the main guy is just being a massive disaster and incapable of having a relationship. That ruined it a bit for me. Their bickering was great, though.

I'll definitely let you know if I ever end up rewatching! We're even in the same time zone. :D

Please do! Adding back. :) I should point out that while I do have fannish feelings about Star Trek and House, I don't post about them a lot. But hey, with the new Star Trek show, maybe that will change!

No worries, I probably won't post much about Star Trek and House either - they are things I like very much but probably not fandoms in the proper sense. I am also fairly new to Star Trek having got into it via the movies (both the old movies and the new ones), and I've just started watching the Original Series on Netflix!

Aww, I recently rewatched season 1 and 2 of TOS with the GF. Such a ridiculously adorable show! We got distracted by other shows, but at some point, I'll have to make her watch the rest.

I just added you because you said the magic words - due South. :p No, really, I LOVE due South so much (and if I had more icon space on DW I'd be punctuating my comment with an icon of Fraser looking really serious, but whatever). But I'm also excited about Doctor Who starting back up and I definitely identify with the gif you picked.

DUE SOUTH. I <3 that show so much, and the fandom is so great. Speranza's dS fic is like my comfort food; I keep coming back to it and it's always just right.

And yay for Doctor Who! I'm also very excited about it coming back; I'm currently in a "love" phase of the love-hate relationship, so I'll definitely be posting about that. :D
