[personal profile] hrj posting in [community profile] 2017revival

Name(s): hrj both here and previously on LJ; I’m pretty open about my full name since I write under it: Heather Rose Jones

Age: 58

Location: California, USA

Other accounts: twitter @heatherosejones, website alpennia.com

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: I have the most fun day-job in the world which basically boils down to solving mysteries. I’m a massive history geek, although in recent years I’ve backed off on the re-creation activities. I have a Regency-era Ruritanian historic fantasy series onging with Bella Books and wish I could afford to write full time. And for all the rest, my journal is something of an open book.

Top 5 fandoms: I would have said that I don’t really have fandoms, but in the sense of obsessively tracking down media versions of a property, I guess I’d have to admit to Jane Austen. And maybe medieval Welsh literature, because the nearest thing I write to fanfic is based on the Mabinogi. Other than that, I don’t really have space in my life to be obsessed with anything other than my own writing, so let’s add Alpennia to the list.

I mostly post about: my writing and books, my annotated bibliography of lesbian history, my great-great-grandfather’s Civil War diaries, my reviews of anything that comes under my eyes, my garden, and various other projects

I rarely post about: anything I wouldn’t want the whole world to know

My last three posts were about: my current lesbian history blog topic (Robert Mills, Seeing Sodomy in the Middle Ages), Civil War correspondence of Abiel T. LaForge: October-December 1863, book review of Mizora: A Mss. Found Among the Private Papers of the Princess Vera Zarovitch (1890), by Mary E. Bradley. (I’m cheating a bit by omitting logistical posts concerning closing out my LJ and associated topics.)

How often do you post? I aim for five posts a week and probably manage that on average

How about commenting? Not as often as I’d like to. I regularly re-pledge to comment often, but life intervenes.

A GIF to describe how your day has been so far: Somehow I’ve never gotten into GIFs. There are entire technologies I somehow leapfrogged over, like CDs for music.

You and I have similar tastes -- I'm trying to write some regencies -- and I'm also fond of Mysteries and History and all that jazz.

May I add you?
