Name: Brian

Age: 34

Location: Chicago

Other Accounts: Also [livejournal.com profile] dorchadas. I have a joint Tumblr with my wife [personal profile] schoolpsychnerd at [tumblr.com profile] thesunandthestorm.

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: Jewish man living in Chicago who immediately thinks "tabletop" whenever someone says the word "gamer." I kept an LJ, and now blog here, because I still like long-form writing about my thoughts at least somewhat for an audience. I often wish I was still back in Japan (where we lived for three years), especially when I can't get good Japanese food locally. Married, no children.

Top 5 fandoms: Hmmm...Exalted (the tabletop RPG)...and that's it in terms of real fandom devotion. I mean, I have interests, but I don't participate in the fandoms to the same extent. Unless curry or dark chocolate are fandoms? I love those. Emoji Kawaii frog photo croaking_frog_emoji_by_kaidahthedragon-dabw3kq.gif

I mostly post about: Computer games, tabletop RPGs (I have running Actual Plays for two games I'm in), food, Japan and the Japanese language, and occasionally about daily life. On rare occasions, politics.

My last three posts were about: A review of the game Owlboy, a translation of a tweet from NHK International on a comment by Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga, and a Game of Thrones-themed brunch at a Chicago restaurant.

How often do you post? How about commenting?: Once every two or three days, on average. I comment pretty frequently when there's something I have to say. photo emot-sun.gif

Hello, Brian. You sound interesting and so I've subscribed to you and granted you access; please feel free to do the same.

I prefer milk chocolate, but I can't argue about curry. Haven't had Indian food in ages, but am suddenly hungry.

I'm the opposite of vegetarian - practically carnivorous with dairy thrown in, so I'd favour the lamb vindaloo over the nine onion curry. And lots of naan to dip in the curry sauce. There is an Indian restaurant about a mile from here that I will be patronizing this very evening!

I really must get back into cooking Indian food. Somewhere I have an Indian cookbook and will have to dig that up.

As I can't find my Indian cookbook, I may well be ordering one soon! Thanks for the recommendation!

Thank you! I'm going to see if I can find my own Indian cookbook - I believe I have a box in the basement with cookbooks in it - but if I can't I will order the one that you suggested.
