Age: I am in my late twenties

Other Accounts: I have an account on the AO3, but no recent fic on there. I also have a Tumblr account, so if you want to connect, just ask. Though I want to shift my centre of fannishness away from there again...
Describe yourself in five sentences or less :
I am a nice geek with a huge interest in history and literature, who is currently also persuing a Phd in English literature. I am a multi-fandom person now (during my first stint on LJ/DW, I was very focused on the Tolkien fandom). I like all variants of fic, though I am partial to long fics in particular. I also don't mind meta (though I see it as a debate, rather than an attempt at conversiion) and can get very involved in analysing things I like. Also, I can get very nerdy about research, and this tends to bog down my writing somewhat.
Top 5 fandoms
Okay, I tried to break it down to five, but I am in no way limited to those
- Middle Earth (I have read the Silmarillion and all of the History of Middle-Earth, love the LOTR films, but am lukewarm on the Hobbit films)
- Inglourios Basterds/ Django Unchained (I am currently hugely invested in researching a number of AUs that broaden and shift the alternative history of the films)
- Harry Potter (I love the older generation and going deeper into Wizarding history)
- English Literature (especially the Brontes and Jane Austen, A.S. Byatt and of course good ol' Will's work *g*)
- Dr Who (I have no favourite Doctor and no particular ship)
Other fandoms include: House M.D., Netflix Marvel, LOTR RPS
I mostly post about:
I plan on mostly posting fic, meta or about fiction writing. Occasionally, I may post about my research or Phd related geekery. Additional book, film, or music reviews may also crop up.
I try not to post about:
Real Life, except obliquely. If and when I post about politics, I will try to keep the discussion neutral and polite.
How often do you post? What about commenting?
I am trying to re-establish a regular commenting routine again, but I have a writing-intensive life, so it could be that I only post twice a month.
As for commenting, I am currently making a point of going over my reading list every day and commenting to establish and maintain contact.

Date: 2017-04-17 08:10 pm (UTC)/a revival for the sake of a revival to me and not like quite the labour of love the old films were/ - Yep. Plus, it was needlessly long, they could have told just as easily the same story in two movies rather than three. Hell, even just in one.
Ah, tumblr, I could rant for days about tumblr... *sighs*
