Name: Zhelana. I have a legal name, but everyone I actually like calls me Zhelana in person, too, so you may as well go with it.
Age: 35
Location: Atlanta native who left for college, and came back, three times. So I guess I'm stuck here. Now I own a house and four pets and a husband who has a good job (for certain definitions of good job that include not having been to college or gotten any particular skills to celebrate), so I doubt I'm leaving any time soon. Which is fine, because my parents still live here, less than 5 miles down the road.
Elsewhere:. I'm happy to friend you on twitter, goodreads (assuming I can figure out how to give you my goodreads information), letterboxd, facebook, or NaNoWriMo.
Describe yourself in five sentences or less: Very liberal American veteran medically retired with schizoaffective disorder. In a love/hate relationship with food. SCAdian, writer, youtuber, and photographer. Volunteer at the Georgia Aquarium, and with Everybody Wins! Atlanta, which is reading to a 2nd grader so he finds a love of reading. Author of that December meme that goes around every year - the one that starts 'a photo of yourself taken this year' and am currently working on writing a 365 day meme that goes along with national holidays including things like "national ice cream day."
Top 5 fandoms: I still actively create for seaQuest DSV. I'm currently writing a Room fanfic, so I guess I create for that, although I don't think I would count it as a fandom. I just got an itch for a particular story. So. Firefly. Marvel. Harry Potter. Are all things I collect "things" from but don't write, although I'm planning a rewatch of Firefly which may spark some fic. Star Trek was my first love, but I'm not as active anymore and there's too much material to rewatch it all. Star Wars is fun, but I'm not obsessive about it. Sportsball probably needs a mention here (football: Falcons and Broncos, Hockey: Avalanche, Capitals, Blackhawks, Ducks, Soccer: Atlanta United, USMNT, USWNT, Baseball: Braves, Rockies, Cubs)
I mostly post about... real life. I post about day to day life every day. Then I have things I do once a week such as Crafting Tuesdays, Music Mondays, and What are you Reading Wednesdays. Also, I'm working my way through a 365 day meme.
I rarely post about... politics. It's probably not impossible to figure out how I feel from reading my blog, but this is my safe space away from all that. If I feel the urge to discuss politics, I'll go elsewhere, but I try to avoid it in general. Also, I don't really watch TV anymore, and haven't since 2000. I found that once I gave it up for college, I didn't miss it, so I never went back.
My last three posts were about... 1. My dog having a tumor removed and sent for biopsy, and going to a write-in, 2. My dog is afraid of the major thunderstorm we had. I drove to my mother's house forgetting that she had cancelled dinner on me, and saw my father for a few minutes. 3. I am not impressed with my new psychologist, and we celebrated my husband's 38th birthday with my parents.
How often do you post? At least daily. I haven't missed a day since September.
How about commenting? I comment when I have something to say, but I do read every day
