Apr. 7th, 2017 08:50 amName: Oleander, but I go by Rachel.
Age: 40 next weekend. -wince-
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Describe yourself in five sentences or less:
Crippled*; crazy*; agender; demisexual, but generally sex-repulsed; screaming left-winger Democratic socialist; non-traditional college student; owned by a spoiled chinchilla; science lover; single; been living with the same roommates for going on 16 years with one and 14 with the other. I am absolutely pro-trigger warnings and try my best to ensure that my journal is a safe place for everyone.
(* I use those words specifically because I am reclaiming them because there is nothing to be ashamed about, godfuckingdammit.)
Top 5 fandoms:
I don't really do fandom because school eats my life. I occasionally flail about the MCU, though.
I mostly post about...
For the past 3 months, there's been a lot about my Mom because she's been in and out of the hospital because of severe health problems. I also post about college life and other daily life stuff. I tend to keep politics solely to Failbook, though they do occasionally get mentioned here.
I rarely post about...
Hm... I guess I would say "my deep feels". I'm trying to re-learn how to open up, though.
My last three posts were about...
Skipping the LJ death posts: "I'm turning 40 and have no social life" wangst, the fact that I'm exploring the possibility of opening an Alpha Phi Omega chapter at my commmunity college, and a catch up post for the 365 question meme that I'm doing. There's also been some stuff about Mom (as I mentioned) and about my baby brother, who died last March. It was a very traumatic time period for me and I'm still dealing with that.
How often do you post?
Looking at my calendar, I apparently post at least 4 times a week. XD I wouldn't say that many of those posts are in-depth, though. I'm access-locked, but only because I'm an intensely private person.
How about commenting?
I comment as much as I can, though I tend to stay quiet if I feel like I have nothing useful to say. I waffle on whether things like hugs, <3's, and general support are truly useful or not. I do read everyone's posts, though.
