- Describe yourself in five sentences or less:
- Stolen from my abortive attempt at LJ Idol Season 9: Life long San Francisco Bay Area resident, married since 1991 to
gridlore, also a Bay Area native. I'm morbidly obese and middle aged. I trend toward the introverted side of ambiversion, and self identify as a recovering depressive (directly analogous, IMO&E, to being a recovering alcoholic). My passions are science fiction conventions and Burning Man, both attending and volunteering; my current Default World boss is someone I work with in the desert. I have too many stuffed animals and not enough bookshelves, too many half-finished craft projects and not enough hours in the day to finish them. - Top 5 Fandoms:
- I'm old enough that I remember the days before that word became quite so balkanized - but I also realize that it was a time when the word referred to F&SF to the exclusion of most all else, so I'm coming around on that point. If I had to give a list, it would probably be (in no particular order) 80's music, classic Doctor Who (I'll watch New!Who, but it's never captured me in quite the same way),
seanan_mcguire's Toby Daye novels, Kushiel's Legacy, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I'm an erstwhile pundit fan and still moderate Texts from the Anchor Desk (officially the co-mod, but the blog founder hasn't been on Tumblr in a while). - I mostly post about:
- Day-in-the-life stuff, with occasional descents into the land of memes.
- My last three posts were about:
- A short rant about LJ's new user agreement and deleting my journal, a locked vagueblogging post about feeling unappreciated for some volunteer work I've been doing, and a post about an unnerving amount of work that needed to be done on my car.
- How often do you post? How about commenting?
- I'm better about the latter than the former, though truth be told I'm not very good at either. ;-) I took part in NaBloPomo in November in the hopes that it would get me posting on a regular basis again, and it's helped a little bit, but I'm still nowhere near as prolific as I was in the early days of my journal.
