Date: 2017-05-26 10:42 am (UTC)Black Sails was just amazing. I'd finish an episode and realize that I hadn't BREATHED the entire time. It's been so long since I watched something that had such incredible writing and acting. (I've written far too much fic for a pairing that shared 30 seconds of screen time, I loved this show so much!)
I'm really enjoying the American Gods series. It's expanding all the mythology and the characters that I wanted to see more of in the novel and it's so wonderfully shot!
And I have to ask, are you the same swiftsnowmane who wrote 'Between the Fire and the Sky'? That fic is incredible! Your prose is gorgeous!

Date: 2017-05-26 01:53 pm (UTC)And oh my goodness, yes, Black Sails was/is, as you say, quite literally BREATHTAKING. I have been a massive fan of Toby Stephens for, idk...going on 15+ years now? So, to see him in such a role was just... immensely gratifying, to say the least. Not to mention all the other incredible characters and the story itself. I was so, so moved by the whole show, and especially the ending. Not every day that you see a tv series that is not only of high quality but that *also* has a beautiful and emotionally satisfying ending! Just...wow. :')
Really good to know that the American Gods show seems to be doing justice to such a wonderful novel. Hopefully I'll have some time in the near future to catch up on the eps (only saw the premiere thus far, meep!).
And....OMG!!! :O I thought your username looked very familiar!! Yes, that is me. 'Between the Fire and the Sky' is a fic that is still so very near and dear to my heart --- and to so unexpectedly read your kind words about it here means more than I can say! THANK YOU. <3
