So I was attempting to click through on a Read More tag on a friend's LJ, when this pops up:



Lemme say that one more time for the folks in the back:

ATTENTION: this translation of the User Agreement is not a legally binding document.

So unless I agree to something written in a language I do not read, I can no longer access a blog I have been using over fifteen years.

I did one final import of content, so I have whatever recent comments have been left on the LJ side of the divide. And then I clicked OK on the agreement long enough to save my 200+ userpics, and deleted my account.

I do hope I'll see more of you on Dreamwidth in the future. I'll miss those of you who don't make the switch.

LJ wouldn't even let me read MY OWN CONTENT without accepting the T&C, so I did. I reviewed my archvies tonight, decided I do want to save them, and dusted off this account. But I am a completely non-techie type of geek, and I don't even know where to start. Any pointers?
