Age: 33 (in two weeks! Scary)
Location: Nebraska, USA
Gender: I'm easy
Describe myself in five sentences bullet points or less:
-Fanfic author for seventeen years now what is wrong with me
-Sometimes a fanartist, but so out of practice it's not even funny
-Mentally ill and unshameable for it (that's a word because I say so)
-GLBTQ+ and not afraid to take you on over it
-Political but I try to keep that to private spaces
Top five fandoms:
-Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 series; manga/Brotherhood were okay, but didn't click with me)
-Marvel Cinematic Universe
-Slayers
-Vision of Escaflowne (was anyone else weirded out by the movie?)
-Legend of Zelda (Since it is currently the end of April in 2017, Breath Of The Wild hasn't been out long and I haven't played it yet so please don't spoil me or I might cry at you)
I mostly post about: So far, no a lot. This will be changing, as I'm going to start talking about my mental illness and such- crossposting from IJ (user name same there as here).
My last three posts:
-Schizohprenia has an awareness week
-Results of a test and shit
-nothing
How often I post/comment:
As often as I can! Since LJ can go bite on a big one, I'm going to make an effort to peek in here at least once a day.
Apparently there was a gif thing, too. So ETA that.

Date: 2017-04-30 06:13 pm (UTC)Ok, you have 5 sentences to tell me why I should give FMA a second chance, GO! XD

Date: 2017-04-30 06:58 pm (UTC)The 2003 series, or the manga/Brotherhood? Because I can give good reasons for both, but they're differing reasons. I will happily convert you back to us. :D

Date: 2017-05-01 01:15 am (UTC)All right.
Five sentences.
1) The story is very nuanced, giving lots of depth to the characters- Al gets to show a dark side that I don't feel was explored much in the manga/Brotherhood, showing off another side of what trauma can do to a person, especially trauma that happened at a young age, and Ed is much in the same boat, and you get to see both take those steps one at a time, and you wanna hug them both so, so, so many times before things are over.
2) The homunculii are also nuanced characters, more than just incarnations of the sin they're named after (although Gluttony is questionable, as we don't know where he came from, and Pride is kind of an outlier on the issue), but actual people with pasts that make them relatable, lovable, and easy to hate- you'll find that especially true of Lust, Sloth, and Envy (I personally hated Wrath- felt he was something of a canon-warping little snot).
3)Alex Louis Armstrong.
4) The Tringham brothers only show up in the 2003 anime- they're novel characters for the manga and the story's different there than in 2003, and they're so worth it, as they show another route the Elric brothers could've taken, living 'what ifs?' that I think they not only do, but grow beyond into their own characters, and not just plot devices.
5) I think the ending is... not more satisfying, but opens up for another journey, for the fans to expand on and love and move forward with (which is kinda the theme of the the story- move forward), whereas the manga/Brotherhood had a more closed and solid ending, but oh man, oh man, oh man, do I like open-ended endings like what the 2003 series had.
And yes, every single one of those were one sentence. I write 1sentences for a hobby, I am the mistress of the long sentence.
