Describe yourself in five sentences or less: Originally from the midwest of the US, currently living in a tiny hamlet in the middle of the Yorkshire Wolds with my husband and our two crazy wolfdogs. Most days my life feels like some kind of surreal blend between 'the Vicar of Dibley' and a folk horror film, lol. I'm an extremely earnest and friendly person, but also highly-sensitive, introverted, and prone to dark depressions and melancholic moods. Above all, I love immersing myself in fictional universes, making deep readings of 'text', and discussing the stories and characters I love with others. :)
Top 5 fandoms:
~ Star Wars is one of my greatest fictional passions, and my main focus is on the character of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, his return to his True Self, and on defending and upholding the redemptive message of the Skywalker saga. My posts cover The Prequels, The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Rogue One, and, of course, the Original Trilogy. (Unfortunately, I am NOT a fan of TFA or the Disney Sequels, and basically ignore everything set post-RotJ in that version of the so-called 'canon'.) Fave ships: Anidala, Obitine, Kanera, Han x Leia, and Snips and Skyguy (as brotp).
~ Black Sails - I happened to randomly catch up on this show just in time for the series finale, and I was completely blown away. One of the best things I've seen in a long, long time. All of the characters and relationships are extremely compelling in their own way, but Captain Flint is my LOVE. I've been a massive fan of Toby Stephens for over 15 years now, and so, as you can imagine, this show was pretty much heaven for me.
~ SanSan (Sansa Stark x Sandor Clegane) - one of my most beloved fictional pairings of all time, and a ship for which I never tire of reading fic and writing meta. (I also enjoy various other aspects of GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire/Dunk & Egg universe, but books only, please -- I do not watch the GoT tv show!)
~ Bethyl (Beth Greene x Daryl Dixon) - another of my all-time favourite pairings, and the ship I've written the most fic for in recent years. I consider this ship to be a fandom in and of itself, as I have pretty much divorced it entirely from its original context in my mind. (So please, do NOT talk to me about The W@lking Dead, as the show itself sickens me and I have literally nothing to do with it anymore.)
~ Other interests and fandoms include, but are not limited to: Tolkien studies, medieval studies, folklore studies, reading/writing/editing, various and sundry period dramas, literary adaptations, and miniseries, Juliet Marillier, Neil Gaiman, American Gods, Twin Peaks (Audrey x Cooper), Kastle (Frank Castle x Karen Page), The Killing (Holder x Linden), BrBa/BCS, old movies, film noir/neo-noir, appreciating beautiful animation, MFMM, Firefly (Rayne and Malnara), The Last Unicorn, Jane Eyre, Beauty and the Beast, Tam Lin, animal bridegroom motifs in folklore, shape-shifting, fairytale illustration, art history, art museums, Scandinavia, Old English, Old Norse, Yorkshire, folk horror, folk metal, Warhorns Festival, horses, my wolfdogs (can't help but occasionally post about my fur kids), and more.
I mostly post about: Er..... all of the above? For further details, see my 'interests' section on my profile.
I rarely post about: Celebrity culture. Just ew.... ugh...no. I avoid twitter and that side of social media like the plague. I also try to ignore what actors, directors, and/or showrunners say in interviews, panels, etc. If/when I do post anything even remotely related to this topic, it is generally in remembrance of a famous person who has passed away.
My last three posts were about: Anakin Skywalker and his role in the saga. (I have a lot to say on this subject ok, lol.)
How often do you post?: Not sure yet, as I am mostly active on tumblr, but I'm trying to change that and get back into this style of blogging again. So....maybe once or twice a week? I'm always around though, even if I'm not posting.
How about commenting?: Again, I'm not actually certain, but if I'm actively engaged in a conversation or discussion, you can rest assured that I will respond fairly quickly. :)
