I am always on the lookout for radical progressive Christians. And being from Canada we can both understand what living under the British is like.

I was so excited to perhaps find a fellow follower of Christ... but I'm glad I kept reading. "Bi" and "poly"? How can you claim to be a follower of Christ, while openly practicing homosexuality and adultery? Mind boggling!

So disappointing. It's hard to find fellow followers of Christ online these days.

What did Jesus say about homosexuality, exactly? He wasn't keen on divorce, I'll grant you that.

And what about the log in your eye and the speck in another's?

And when the scribes asked Jesus what the most important commandments are, He replied:

The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

I think there is a good and fruitful conversation to be had about what following those commandments actually means in this day and age. What does love mean? Who is my neighbour? We all have so much to learn from one another as we walk together. But you miss out on the conversation if you assume that anyone who doesn't agree with your version is not following Christ.

It really is. It'd be so nice to find christians (like angelofthenorth) who weren't sanctimonious. Good grief.

Like the bible never had poly relationships in it. Those were never condemned. The sanctimonious however, they got told off a lot by Christ.

Get a grip.

First, it's really not hard to find people who believe the same as you. You just have to look in the right places.

Second, don't cast the first stone. What good could it possibly do to insult someone you have never met?

So much more disappointing to find someone who claims to be a follower of Christ completely miss the point of everything he represents. Maybe you should go back and do some reading of your gospels and check out the parts about "Love thy neighbor". It's been a while, but I'm quite certain that Christ never added any amendments suggesting exceptions to this.

You know, I have more sympathy than most liberal Christians with the view that the relationship between sin and sexuality is actually more complicated than "if you're okay with eating shellfish then you should be okay with homosexuality", but there is nothing Christlike in this comment.

I'm an American living in the UK and would be interested to read what you have to say about UK politics--a subject I'm trying to learn more about :)
