Location: Great Lakes area of the US

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: I'm a full time academic who teaches and does research. I'm married and we have a little cat who we spoil all the time. I've been vegan (beegan, whatever, I eat honey) for a decade and I try live a compassionate life. I spend most of my time working, reading, watching bad movies, getting lost on the internet, and trying to keep up with meditation. I'm really into midcentury modern design and I'm always working on my eyeliner skills. 

Top 5 fandoms: I don't really do fandom and I'm not into writing or reading fanfic. But I do care passionately about Harry Potter, Star Trek, Buffy, and LOTR.

I mostly post about: My life, work, family, music, random thoughts about life, making sense of faith. I'm fairly private and keep everything locked, but once I've decided someone is cool enough to add, I share a lot in my journal. 

I rarely post about: I don't post much about politics or fan stuff

My last three posts were about: signing up to volunteer for something and thoughts about Easter, feelings about some movies and angst about teaching, and some thoughts about Jim Jones from an NPR segment I heard the other day.

How often do you post? Several times per week.

How about commenting? I try to comment when I have something to say or when someone shares something that obviously means a lot to them.

I heard that same NPR segment. I listen to far too much NPR. I'm veg/vegan which I realize is "cheating." I now call myself a vegetarian, but I do choose vegan options most of the time.

I'll add you, but I won't take offense if you determine that we're not a good match up the road. It happens. (As I'm tying this, that GIF is making me trip! lol Look how Hermione's hair shakes. *snort*)
