catamorphism on LJ / tim on DW
Apr. 7th, 2017 11:28 amName: I got on DW early enough that my username could be the same name I go by in my life. It's easy enough to find out my surname if you want to.
Age: Late mid-thirties/early late-thirties
Location: Bay Area, California
Social media: Tumblr; Twitter; Facebook if you know me well enough.
Describe yourself in five sentences or less:
Gay luxury space communist, or pansexual trans earth socialist. Depending on what day of the week it is. Mid-career in the software industry, aspiring to be early-career in something else. Sometime writer, musician, and knitter. Selective extrovert; the world's laziest workaholic.
Top 5 fandoms:
Not really in any fandom, although I do have a Tumblr that's mostly devoted to acclaimed indie rock band the Mountain Goats.
I mostly post about...
Publicly: language, trans politics, inclusion and justice in tech industry and culture
Friends-only: work-related venting, career and family plans, monthly life updates (none of these as often as I would if more people were here)
I rarely post about...
Nothing's really off-limits in friends-only posts except for other people's private stuff and drama affecting people on my access list.
My last three posts were about...
Encouraging people to move their LJ posts over here if they want me to see them (public); monthly life update (friends-only); request for work-related advice (friends-only)
How often do you post?
A few times a month. Might get to be more if my DW community was bigger.
How about commenting?
Couple times a week, or when I have something I think is worth saying.
I'm mostly looking to reconnect with folks I used to know from LiveJournal, but am also open to meeting new people. I miss that thing where it was possible to make new friends on LJ. If I don't already know you, and want to, I will probably want to get to know you though mutual subscriptions first. I like to know people a little better before I grant access.
