ng_moonmoth in both places
Apr. 7th, 2017 10:35 amName: I'm working on this right now; the one I got as an infant isn't going to work long-term. Just call me moonmoth or ng_moonmoth for the time being.
Age: Somewhere between "old enough to be president" and "old enough for Social Security".
Location: Silicon Valley, California.
Describe yourself in five sentences or less:
I am an awakening, genderqueer, nonbinary, omnidemisexual human who has had it up to here with being misgendered, and is looking for ways to share my identity with others. There's a small bit of territory closely circumscribed by my presumed gender, "joke", "fraud", "freak", and "pervert" that is where I want to settle, and provide a counterexample disputing the erasure that is so common for elements of my identity. Veteran of a(n un?)reasonably long and decently successful career in tech. Lifelong learner -- I've recently taken up knitting, and am busy working on an ambitous sweater project.
Top 5 fandoms:
Although I'm often present in science fiction fandom, especially the subcommunity known as filk, I don't seem to have the whatever-it-is that generates much of what seems to be identified as "fandom" in that space. But writing about that got me to realize that I do qualify in that way as a fan of, and contributor to,
ysabetwordsmith's An Army of One and Polychrome Heroics storylines. Do go check their stuff out -- there is likely to be something there that catches your eye. In filk, I'm an occasionally productive lyricist and infrequent tunesmith, so that should probably count, too.
I mostly post about...
Support for and interaction with various people who are practicing crowdfunding; thoughts on gender identity and what people are saying about it; occasional polls and memes; and a slice of life every so often.
I rarely post about...
My daily life.
My last three posts were about...
A meme, support for a crowdfunded poet I've been seriously interacting with for a few years, and a shoutout to a friend who's doing a massive public service by collecting and commenting on journalism found online that highlights the current administration's follies.
How often do you post?
Once or twice a month, as a rule. I'm wondering whether having more people to share with will motivate me to make it more frequent.
How about commenting?
Several times a week. I enjoy this aspect quite a bit.
ETA: If you think you know me by my meatspace name, odds are good that I am who you think I am. But that's just a name I've been using, and doesn't belong on this account. If you'd like confirmation, and know the email address that goes with that name, you can send an email mentioning ng_moonmoth there; otherwise, if you were to PM me with something specific indicating you know me as more than just a name, I'll answer.
