I've just logged on to Dreamwidth for the first time in over a year to discover that I appear to be all alone and shouting into a great void. It's a most disheartening sensation.

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: I am a 40-something woman living and working in Acton, MA with my husband and my eight-year-old daughter, Tae. I often feel like I’m a very rare, boring, species to be found on the internet – a cisgender straight woman. I am a third-generation Chinese-American, an activist for equality, a feminist, a mentor and a lifelong student. I am a night-owl, a philosopher, psychologist, a sociologist, a reader, a writer and a budding blogger.

Top 5 fandoms: The Librarians and Leverage are the main two (I'm a big Christian Kane fan!)
But also Supernatural and I like the current Marvel and DC films and tv shows.

My last three posts were about: Returning to DW; my washing machine breaking down and the trials of finding a new one; how much I'm enjoying watching my daughter developing into her own person

How often do you post?: I'm aiming for a couple of times a week

How about commenting?: I like to comment. I enjoy conversing with people but I don't have anyone to comment to :(

Describe yourself in five sentences or less: Awkward and weird, I'm trying my best and sometimes I succeed. I trend towards quiet because I don't know what to say or how to say it and I'd like to not make a fool out of myself. (It happens anyways.) Top 5 Fandoms: Star Wars, Steven Universe, MCU, fandom itself

I mostly post about: .. not much right now but I'd like to change that. Locked is personal, everyday, family and friends sort of topics. Unlocked, or public, is things I do - crafting, gaming, and fanfic and fanart. (I'm not a good artist, and it's not modesty saying that, I really am a beginner and/or completely out of practice and you should expect that level prose and doodle from me. Don't get your hopes up!)

I rarely post about: .. anything that I think is really serious or important; reading other peoples' thoughts and opinions on a topic is fine but I usually don't feel confident about my ability to really talk on a subject. Posts about things like politics and related will probably be infrequent.

My last three posts were about: I don't have any at the moment! But my next post will be about art lessons and the one after that about Habitica.

How often do I post?: One to three times a week is my goal.

How about commenting?: I leave a lot more comments than I do posts; most often they're kudos or 'liked' types of comments - "kudos: i enjoyed reading this" or "kudos: i thought this was well drawn."
